HR Assistant

Location: Roseville, CA (On-site)
Pay: $24-$25/hour
Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support the Human Resources department of a growing organization in Roseville. This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career HR professional looking to gain hands-on experience across multiple HR functions while working closely with HR leadership and employees.

The HR Assistant will serve as a key point of contact for daily HR administrative activities and employee support, ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including paperwork, orientation coordination, and system updates
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR files (digital and physical)
  • Support recruitment efforts by posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and general HR procedures
  • Assist with benefits administration tasks, including open enrollment support
  • Track employee status changes, time-off requests, and compliance documentation
  • Prepare HR reports, support audits, and assist with special HR projects as needed
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, or administrative role with HR exposure
  • Basic understanding of core HR functions (recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); HRIS experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting California HR compliance
  • Familiarity with onboarding systems and HRIS platforms
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred, not required)
